7 Grooms Who Rocked The Formal Man Bun

Love ’em or hate ’em, man buns are definitely here to stay. We’re of course in the former camp just FYI in case this post title didn’t already clue you in on our favorable position on top knots. When it comes to your wedding day however, we understand the hang ups regarding this perceived “hipster trend.”  In fact, the most “beauty” prep most of us expect men to do before their big day is a haircut. Needless to say, locks lengthy enough to gather into an updo may seem out of the question; too “casual.” By no means are we suggesting grooms grow their hair out just for the big day. After all, you want to look like yourself when you utter your “I dos” don’t you? But if you or your spouse are rocking an arguably unkempt mane pre-nuptials and are considering  a cut,  hold that thought.

We’re here to vouch for the formal man bun. True, though the up-and-coming-do  is undeniably now we find it charmingly old school. The style is strangely reminiscent of menswear’s past, the days of coattails, tights, and even bowed braids. Okay that imagery may be going a bit far, but we’d argue that the more modern man bun has the power to transform the average “dude” into a bit of a contemporary prince charming. Still not on board? We’ve got seven gorgeous grooms that may convince you otherwise in the gallery above.

Brides beware, you may want to step up your updos.
