Spring 2015 couture week offered up a lot of sexy shear fabrics and complex, commanding silhouettes. Even barring all the over-the-top bridal grand finale looks, it can be difficult to sift out the wearable pieces for your wedding (even if just for inspiration). Well, we’ve done most of the heavy-lifting for you (seriously, do you have any idea how much most of these multi-layered, embellished beauties weigh?). Truth is it doesn’t take that much imagination to appropriate an avant-garde ensemble for your big day– even if it isn’t quite as big as Chanel’s ceremony last week (except for the male models as flower girls part, of course). It’s simple math: start with one couture look and then just subtract one outerwear showpiece or add one under-layer of lining to reduce bulk or bare skin.
Most of the gowns in the above gallery don’t require even these kindergarten-level calculations, but there are a couple of surprises in here so get clicking. We totally weren’t expecting that on-trend yet simple shear-tiered dress from Jean Paul Gaultier, and that Chanel sans voluminous floral shrug and belt is perfectly sweet and understated as well.
