As you may already know, we recently took a holiday to an Airbnb just outside NYC in lovely Hudson, New York. As tourists flock to The Big Apple’s festive lights and over-the-top celebrations this holiday, us city folk seek something a little more serene, stripped down, and rustic. We’re sure NYC Airbnbs are all booked up but what about the rest of the state? Upstate has plenty to offer. Scenic scapes, farm food, and starry nights undisturbed by a bright, busy skyline are just a few perks. And yes, fresh air is included, but there’s also something to be said for curling up in a cabin with friends and family, escaping the cold and enjoying mere company next to a fireplace. Just outside the city, there’s cozy seclusion that most NYC respites simply can’t replicate.
You’ve already seen what we did on our recent stay in an upgraded upstate Airbnb, now on to the design. Among our motley crew of friends and family, this contemporary country Airbnb was a character all on its own. Let this be proof that “rural” rentals aren’t necessarily anywhere near “roughing it.” Our favorite thing about this Airbnb’s interiors were the expert balances struck between intimate and luxe, warm and elevated, and rustic and modern.
